Upcoming Events

Previous Projects

New Music for Trumpet:
Works by Halco-Haack and McMichael

This past year, Flint has been involved in the creation of two new works for trumpet and accompaniment by composer MJ Halco-Haack and Catherine McMichael. McMichael's composition for trumpet and organ, entitled Ascendant, was commissioned by a consortium of musicians, including Flint, led by the Great Lakes Duo.

In 2022, Flint contacted composer and friend MJ Halco-Haack about composing a piece for his trip and performances in Serbia. This work, titled Iowan Vignette, is meant to represent the different seasons of the state of Iowa, from warm days next to the corn fields, to the beauty of the Mississippi River, to the intensity of the winter months. This work premiered in January 2023 at Flint's recital at the Vučković School of Music in Belgrade.

Agōgē Brass Quintet

The Agōgē Brass Quintet is the top graduate brass chamber ensemble at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Flint was a member of Agōgē for two years, playing in annual recitals, outreach concerts to local public schools, and community performances. The quintet were featured artists with the UNCG University band as they performed Michael Sweeney's arrangement of Suite from Mass  by Leonard Bernstein.

Musical Pit:

Man of La Mancha

In the spring of 2019, the Triad Stage put on the Tony award winning musical Man of La Mancha. Featuring a cast with a background in television as well as the theater, the Triad Stage assembled an equally experienced group of local Greensboro musicians to bring the 1965 musical to life. Man of La Mancha was well received by local critics, running from late April till Memorial day with Flint  performing 7-8 times a week.

Marching Arts:

River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps

Joining the education staff after completing his Master's Degree, Flint worked with the Minnesota corps as a visual technician during their 2019 season, helping the group to a 8th place finish at DCI's Open Class World Championship. Flint returned with River City in the 2021 season, operating as the Visual Caption Head for five time Open Class Championships finalist.

Sinfonia Gulf Coast

At the end of April 2022, the SGC orchestra performed their "Raiders of the Lost Ark: In Concert" program originally scheduled in 2020. Hosted at the Emerald Coast Convention Center, Flint joined the trumpet section to play the backing soundtrack as the Spielberg film was shown to a packed audience.
